Dissect & question

I pore over the brief and any supporting documents to understand every detail of the ask. Before I write a single word, I’ll ask a pile of questions for additional context.

The egg timer

If an idea doesn’t bubble up after I’ve absorbed everything, I set the timer for 5-10 minutes and just start writing. No spell check, no editing, just whatever comes to mind. I repeat this step as needed.

The fun begins

Only once I have an idea in mind do I start crafting the message. Write. Organize. Polish.

I love every word equally but I’m ruthless with my red pen. I trim the content to fit the designer’s vision while preserving the core message for the audience.
